The Pope is peforming his evangelical duty.
It is historical that the catholic church will keep on losing followers to other demoninations. People want to go for changes; they want a break from conservative thinking. Life styles change with time. If the church does not change with them, it is likely to lose more and more followers as time moves on. Given the multitude of its followers worldwide, the church may not presently feel this loss, but with decades and centuries passing by, there will come a time when future popes will have to see to it that revolutionary action within the church is a solution.
